Such has been the record of Mrs. Helen M. Gougar, author and woman suffragist, born in Litchfield, Mich., July 18, 1843. At forty years of age her head was prematurely whitened by a bitter and hard-fought try and weaken her energy in political circles by defamation, however the battle over and her enemies fully vanquished, she went on to contest heroically, combating for what she believes to be the precise and patriotic trigger to a higher civilization. Mrs. Anna H. Shaw was born in New Castle-on-Tyne, England, on the fourteenth of February, 1847. Her descent is attention-grabbing as illustrating the force of heredity. Much of her power and drive and considered expression are believed to consequence from the experiences of her pioneer life in Michigan, and her energy of transferring audiences from the contact of humanity which came to her whereas working towards drugs in town of Boston. In 1872 she had entered Albion College, Michigan, and in 1875 she entered the theological department of the Boston University, from which she graduated with honor in 1878. She labored her way via college and whereas within the theological school she was constantly worn with onerous work, learning on weekdays and preaching on Sundays. |
