The wardrobe was in charge of vogue designer duo Dolce & Gabbana; Madonna gave them directions to look at various films, including My Fair Lady (1964) and Cabaret (1972), to deliver to life the "striptease, Vegas kind of present" she envisioned. Two aircraft had been needed to ferry the tour round Europe, together with the most important Soviet transport plane ever made; it took four full days and one hundred workers to assemble the stage, with one further day for the setting up of production. The designers would "redo" the stuff that would rip or come apart throughout the tour; "We followed the tour this way. From time, shorts and different issues were lacking. We followed the tour and assisted Madonna, regardless of being at all times in Milan", they defined. Like him/her, I have been involved with Amma's stuff for a long time. The tour was then chronicled in a photo e-book of the same title, released in November 1994. This launch included a CD with three live tracks: "Like a Virgin", "On this Life", and "Why's It So Hard". On July 9, 1993, The Philadelphia Inquirer announced that Madonna would embark on the Girlie Show, a new live performance tour. |
